The Easter Sunday bomb blasts in Sri Lanka occurred on April 21, 2019. Multiple coordinated suicide bombings targeted churches and luxury hotels in several cities, including Colombo, Negombo, and Batticaloa, killing more than 250 people and injuring hundreds more.

According to Sri Lankan government, these attacks were carried out by a local extremist group affiliated with ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria). The bombings were a tragic and significant event in Sri Lanka's recent history and had a profound impact on the country.
